Overview

Valuation Analyst – VFLT India

Under the direction of Senior/Assistant Manager, Valuation Analyst is responsible for input, analysis, and review of financial data pertaining to the firm’s clients. The Analyst is responsible for identifying the trends and operational characteristics of the data, to collaborate with other team members in India and the US and adhere to the work plan defined by the Senior/Assistant Manager in India and the US.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively support on valuation engagements in collaboration with a senior/ manager in India or the US
  • Support Wipfli project teams in providing financial consulting services relating to business valuations (Gift & Estate planning, Healthcare, ESOPs, and Bank valuations)
  • Preparation and analysis of structured data from unstructured data sources
  • Download industry and economic data, analyze financial statements, and summarize key report points
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to business valuation issues and specific industry trends
  • Communicate proactively with other associates regarding open items, potential problems, or other important matters in a timely manner
  • Input financial data into various models
  • Analyze target company data to identify historical and projected financial and operating trends, working capital considerations, and potential risks which impact valuation and negotiation of the target company
  • Deliver high-quality work products and assist other team members in valuation team
  • Collaborate with VFLT team members in the US and India

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with team members across US and India
  • Demonstrated ability to generate a quality work product in a timely manner with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and make decisions
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in business valuations, gift & estate tax valuations, business combinations (ASC 805) and goodwill impairment (ASC 350), among others will be preferred
  • CA (Intermediate/ Final) or CFA Level I/II/III or any other business valuation certification is preferred
  • Prior experience of working with overseas team is desirable
  • Prior experience with IBIS World, Capital IQ, or Deal Stats would be nice to have
