Overview

Valuation Senior 

(2 to 3 years of Business Valuation)  

 

Under the direction of Assistant Manager/Manager, Valuation Senior is responsible for input, analysis, and review of financial data of VFLT clients of the firm. The Senior is responsible for identifying the trends and operational characteristics of the data, to collaborate with other team members in India and the US and adhere to the work plan defined by the Assistant Manager/Manager in India and the US. 

  

Roles and responsibilities:  

  • Effectively manage valuation engagements in collaboration with a Manager in India or the US
  • Understand the work needs by collaborating with other offices.
  • Anticipate project needs and work with minimum direction and support.
  • Prepare and analyze structured data from unstructured data sources.
  • Provide business insights and propose solutions in line with client business needs.
  • Prepare draft reports, tables, exhibits, and charts on a wide range of assignments.
  • Communicate proactively with other firm associates regarding open items, potential problems, or other important matters in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to business valuation issues and specific industry trends.
  • Identify new ways to meet client expectations and solve client problems.
  • Effectively train others and mentor junior team members.
  • Respond to client and Firm associates in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner.
  • Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines.

 

Skills and Competencies:  

  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with team members across US and India.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Should be able to lead a project and review analyst’s work.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate a quality work product in a timely manner with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to integrate multiple factors and perspectives in problem solving strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and make decisions.
  • Self-motivated and establishes high performance standards while encouraging others to follow.

  

Essential Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business valuations, gift estate tax valuations, business combinations (ASC 805) and goodwill impairment (ASC 350), among others.
  • CA or CFA/ABV/ASA/ other business valuation certifications is preferred.
  • Prior experience of working with overseas team is a must.
  • Prior experience with IBIS World, Capital IQ or Deal Stats would be nice to have.
